    Don’t let others’ ideas of “a perfect wedding” interfere with your planning. If big and frilly and expensive is their thing – then yay for them. If simplicity is how you two want it, then simplicity you should have.

    The Man and I eloped almost 16 years ago. We spent 25$ and went to a museum for a suggested donation of $5. I didn’t have a wedding dress. I didn’t have anyone there. It was me, him, and the guy that could marry us (a judge). The only thing I wish I had were pictures because I bet we looked really awesome that day 🙂

    In the end, we had some money for down payments to turn water on and get an apartment – things that helped our marriage more than a huge bill.

    Do what you want. It’s your day 🙂
